Wholegrains
Wholegrains release energy slowly and steadily which means your blood sugar and energy levels stay more constant. They also contain higher levels of natural vitamins and minerals which refining processes can sometimes remove. We use wholegrains whenever possible in our meals to keep you on form throughout the day.
Low fats and good fats
We use olive oil to cook our food and dress our salads – and we only use small amounts. We never us margarine in our sandwiches – sometimes a little butter. We believe that this is healthier than artificial, chemically processed “spreads”.
Low in sugar and salt
Everybody knows that fat, sugar and salt are bad in high amounts. We never add sugar to our savoury dishes and our levels of salt are kept to a minimum. We often substitute fruit sugar for normal sugar in our deserts. This has a lower glycemic index, which means your blood sugar levels remain more constant. Or sometimes we use honey, which is a natural, healthier alternative.
Gluten, dairy and wheat free options
When you’re on a special diet, it’s not always easy to find the right food to eat. No wheat, no dairy, no gluten can make like pretty difficult! We always try to provide options for those on a gluten/wheat or dairy free diet, who still want to eat well.
